Posture During the Storm
Hey Friend,
What have you been up to this week? I know for me this week has been filled with many emotions. Our nation is in a pandemic due to the COVID-19 virus and Police brutality. Despite everything that is taking place in the world GOD is still on the throne. HE is the Alpha and Omega which means HE is the beginning and the end, and NOTHING catches God by surprise! Yesterday God reminded me that we as believers have a position in all of this.
If you play baseball your position is to hit the ball, if you are a kicker on the football team your position (goal) is to make the field goal. Guess what our position is as believers? Our position is prayer, we must get back to the basics. Praying on our knees and seeking God. Some may say I don't have to get on my knees to pray, correct but getting on your knees is a sign of submission and surrender. However, I don’t know about you but before the pandemic I would say my prayer to God in bed and kept it moving but God reminded me that is not my posture. My posture is on my knees and praying to HIM. HIS word reminds us that “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14)”.
That means we need to reposition our posture and seek God. It’s okay to protest, it is okay to be angry, but we must end it with the words I trust you GOD. What we must do is pray for our nation, pray for our president and his council, pray for the lives lost to law enforcement and their families. Your physical body is not designed to carry stress. Give all your worries and cares to God, for HE cares about you (1 Peter 5:7). If someone is taking care of you that means they care about everything that involves you! Everything that involves you is already taken care of in other words it is already done. You are worried about your groceries, your income, your kids and your spouse. However, that stuff is already taking care of! Do what you were called to do AND that is to Trust God. Trust God in every area of your life. HIS strength is made perfect in our weakness. I wonder what would happen if everyone would get back on their knees and seek counsel from God? We don’t have the answers BUT GOD does!!! Things happen when we pray.
It is getting better, even if it doesn’t look like it but God is still God and HE is good!
